Humphrey Williams Full Name: Humphrey Stephen Williams
Gender: Male
Birthday: 11/14/01
Age: 14
Blood: Halfblood
Birth Place: London
Nationality: British
Family: The Williams family has gone from a fairly large to a relatively small group in a short amount of time. Two years before Humphrey was born his grandparents on his mother's side got in a car accident, sadly killing both of them upon impact with a semi truck. On his father's side, only his grandfather was alive when Humphrey was born; however, he passed away when Humphrey was only four years old so he has no clear memories of him. Both his mother and father had siblings: but his father's two brothers were both killed in an accident brewing a tricky potion, and his mother's sister and brother both cut off relations with her after she started to act strangely after meeting his father. In reality, it was because she had learned of the wizard's community as they grew serious; and, she knew that they were not allowed to know about that so she intentionally let them grow apart so it would be easier to hide it.
Humphrey has one younger sister, Casey, who is nine years old. He dotes on her and treats her like a princess, as any good big brother would do. He has no cousins or other relations that he is aware of, although Williams is a fairly common surname.
History: Humphrey, save for his occasional outburst of magic, is a fairly normal eleven year old boy. His outbursts usually occur when he's out playing on the playground or with his new cleansweep broomstick. Usually, though, it is something small that can easily be put right, although it has a tendency to transfigure or charm things into toys for him to play with, which his parents find quite annoying. His father has the unlucky task of trying to put it back to the original state, which can be quite challenging if he's unable to tell what it was to begin with. These accidents have been occurring since he was six years old, and to be honest the young boy finds them amusing.
When he turned six something else happened shortly after, his little sister Casey joined the family. She was born a little less than a month after he turned six, on December thirteenth. Not only did he immediately start to spoil her, as soon as the girl was old enough to walk he started to train her in some of his pranking ways. Yes, Humphrey was a mischievous boy, but all of his pranks were lighthearted and fun, never mean or cruel. His sister became a master at using her adorable faces to get her way, which Humphrey soon found out and put to good use to help him sometimes.
Before long, it was the summer before his first year at Hogwarts. He spent every day he could with Casey, because he was well aware he would miss her more than he would miss even his mom. Soon he had his supplies and was heading off on the train, hoping that the years would pass quickly and his sister would be able to join him before he knew it. Little did he know that at Hogwarts the time always flies by, and for young pranksters especially, it makes an excellent home.
One other thing worth noting, is that Humphrey has been an avid reader ever since he started learning to read at the age of four. By the time he was five he could read through children's books all on his own, and by the time he was six had progressed to books of regular size. Some of his favorites were the plays of Shakespeare, the poems of Walt Whitman, and also Alfred Lord Tennyson. When it came to novels he adored the science fiction, fantasy, and some of the popular young adult authors. Series written by the muggle authors Rick Riordan, J. R. R. Tolkien, Orson Scott Card, Neil Gaiman, Terry Goodkind, Cassandra Clare, and C. S. Lewis captured his attention. And some of his favorite individual novels were Looking For Alaska and Paper Towns by John Green, Howl's Moving Castle by Diane Jones, The Inferno by Dante, and A Connecticut in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain. One other favorite of his was the collection of mysteries about Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Even when Humphrey packed his school trunk, the boy had to find room for some of his favorite muggle books, even though he knew he may get made fun of for them. Books were part of what made Humphrey Humphrey, though, so he made space anyways.
Eagerly awaiting the start of his term, he stepped onto the Hogwarts Express, imagining adventures like the ones in his books in addition to some of the stories his father had told him about his time at the school.
Appearance: He has blonde hair and dark brown eyes that seem to stare into a persons soul. He has a small birthmark on his hip, roughly shaped like a heron, at least that's what he calls it. His mom tells him it's just his imagination, but Humphrey suspects it may just be the angle he sees it from. Also has a little bit more freckles than the picture shows, both on his face and across his arms and legs.
Personality: As I said above, Humphrey is a bookworm and always has been. This also helps him in school, and he's done well in the muggle one while waiting to start at Hogwarts. Loves to write short stories, poems, and has started to make the beginnings of his own book though it has a long, long way to go. Also likes to play the acoustic guitar and the piano, though he only started learning those when he was nine. Loves to sing too, and often annoys everyone in his family while he goes about the house singing to himself. Also loves to ride on the cleansweep his father got him for his tenth birthday, and played some recreational football and basketball in the local leagues.
He has a very bubbly and energetic personality. Humphrey is never the type to sit still, which has led to his passion for pranks. Always likes to keep things light and often makes jokes, but rarely at the expense of others. Rare to see him without a smile. In addition to being energetic though, when Humphrey gets into a book, writing, or playing his music, he can be a bit withdrawn. Though usually he is more outgoing, at times he loses himself within either the music or the captivating rhythm of words on the page. Is always honest when it comes down to it, extremely fond and a bit overprotective of his little sister Casey, and loyal to a fault. If you make a friend of Humphrey, you'll have a friend for life.
And although he doesn't know for sure yet, the boy suspects he's going to have a talent for transfiguration. Suspects it because the accidental magic he's done has usually been of that sort.
Humphrey walked onto platform nine and three quarters, leaving his mom behind as he began his journey into a whole new world. She had dropped him at the station, told him his instructions, and headed off to work. The young boy didn't mind in the slightest though, as he marveled at the magnificent scarlet steam engine and all of the witches and wizards about. He'd grown up a wizard in the muggle world, until now, and all of the sights and sounds was kind of dizzying to him. Fanged frisbees, people playing exploding snap or other games, and the color from all the different types of wizard's robes all around was almost too much for him to take in. Despite it all, he managed to find his way onto the train, and soon found his way into a compartment.
After tucking his trunk in the overhead compartment, Humphrey took out his journal and dipped his quill in his inkpot. The boy began to write about all the things he'd seen, and also about his hopes for what he could accomplish this year. At the top of the list was making new friends to make the memories with. As the steam engine left the station, the new life for a boy who'd always felt out of place in the muggle schools took off with it.
