Family: Melody was born to Marcus Anthony Johnson and Valerie Jade Johnson. Her father was twenty five at the time and her mother was twenty four. Her mother was a Muggle and her father a PurebloodHer sister was born when she was five, Crystal Jane Johnson, her parents were thirty and twenty nine. Her mother died at thirty three, when she was nine and Crystal was four. Her fathrr is curently forty and her sister is currently ten.
History: Melody Elizabeth Johnson was born on a cold Halloween night to a Muggle mother (Valerie Jade Johnson), and a wizard father (Marcus Anthony Johnson). She was named Melody after her mother's love of music and her middle name Elizabeth for her father's mother. Through her first two years of life, her father was silently hoping she would be magic. Once day, near her third birthday, her mother was making the cake for the party. Melody kept trying to come in, but her father told her to keep out. She got angry and stormed to her room. When she was in her room she stomped her feet and let out small screams. The lights in her room began to flicker - the first sign of power. She cried to her mother, who came running and asked what was wrong. The lights stopped flickering before her mother got there and shrugged it off, telling her mother she thought she saw a spider. She kept showing signs of power, and finally confonted her parents about it. They told her that she had magic in her, like her father, and she was very happy. She had grown up the past few years of her lives around her father doing magic and telling her about his job as an Auror, and she had prayed she would end up a witch.
She was four when her parents told her that her sister, Crystal would be coming. Being a five year old, she was curious, and asked the stupid "where do babies come from?" question. Her parents were slightly horrified and shook their heads, laughing nervously and dismissed her. Her sister was born on May 17th, 2193. At first she was very excited, but once the baby came home and settled in, she hated it for it's crying. Yes, she called her sister "it". She warmed up to her when her sister was about two, and she was about seven. They became very close and told each other everything. Just before their mother's death, Crystal started to show magical abilities, too. She was happy to have another witch in the family. Once her mother was killed, Melody's personality changed drasically. She often stayed in her room by herself, grieving over her mother. She only came out for meals and school. After a year, when she was ten, the year before Hogwarts, she finally left her room and started hanging out with her sister and father again. Over the summer before her first Hogwarts year, she recived her letter and was more than excited. When she was taken to Diagon Alley by her father, her sister tagging along, she was so excited. She got everything required, and then headed to Olivander's. She tried multiple wands in the shop until she finally got her wand. The current runner of the shop told her that her mother had had a wand nearly exactly like hers, only Melody's was surprisingly springy. This made Melody very happy. They then went to buy her owl, Snowflake. She had been looking at all the owls and Snowflake had been staring at her, hooting excitedly. Melody chose her and named her Snowflake, and they have been best friends sense.
Her first year at Hogwarts was an exciting one. Her father had given her a few Galleons for the lunch cart on the train, and she had gotten a few Chocolate Frogs and a box of Bertie Bots Every Flavor Beans. She sadly came across a candle wax favored on. When they arrived at Hogwarts, she was amazed by it's size. Though she had seen photographs, she hadn't imagined it being this large. She loved the Sorting Hat's song. When the hat was placed on her head, it took seconds to decide and shouted out "Slytherin!". She had fun with her roomates and grew to love her classes, besides History of Magic, and especially Transfiguration. Every week she got a letter from her father and sister and was very happy. Though she was made fun on every now and then for her Halfblood heritage, she had a lot of fun. She had a wonderful time figuring out the secrets of Hogwarts. When she returned home, she was excited to see her family.
Melody's second year was rather boring. She went through her classes and was figuring things out. This was the year she had figured out that she liked girls and well has boys. She told a few of her friends and they were very good about it. At the end of the year, she signed up for Care of Magical Creatures, Divination, Muggle Studies, and Astrology.
Melody's third year was very exciting. She enjoyed learning about her mother's heritage in Muggle Studies, but wasn't so good at Divination. Care of Magical Creatures and Astrology were fun, but weren't her favorite. The week of her first Hogsmeade visit her father sent her Galleons in the mail. She used them well and got a lot of candy, of course. For her birthday, her father got her her first broom, and whenever the Quidditch teams weren't on the feild, she would fly around and practice as a Chaser.
During Melody's fourth year, she tried out of the Quidditch team as a Chaser, but lost the position. She was upset, but went on. This year, she had her first boyfriend, and her first heartbreak. She surivived, and made the best of the rest of her year, having fun at Hogsmeade and with her friends.
Appearance: Melody is about 5'6. She has long wavy black hair that ends below her chest and often is flicked over her shoulder. She has bangs that sometimes cover her almond shaped ice blue eyes. She has a long nose and thin pale pink lips. She has olive colored skin. She has a medium chest and curves on her body. She's an average weight and size. When she isn't wearing her robes, she usually wears sneakers, jeans, and a t-shirt.
Personality: Melody is an ambitious and cunning girl. She likes to pull pranks on her friens and she is very sarcastic. She is clever and she has a quick wit. When she first meets someone, she can come off as rude and unentertaining. But, once you get to know her, and understand her, she can be kind, caring, funny, and pretty interesting. She doesn't share many secrets, however, because she doesn't like completely opening up to people. When around people she doesn't like she can be rude, mean, and avoid them at all costs. From what you just read, you may call her cold-hearted, but see her around her family and you'll think differently. When with her sister, she is very sweet. She plays with her and buys her things and always sends her nice letters from Hogwarts. Though they have their fights, she loves her sister dearly. With her father, they hang out a lot and she does joke around with him, but she also sends him letters and gifts as well. She loves her family and is very protective over them. She's had a few crushes in her life, and one boyfriend, but other than that, she hasn't had much of a love life. But, if she likes someone, she'll act nervous or loud. She'll avoid eye contact and probably laugh too much. She isn't a big romantic, but would love to have a spouse someday.
Melody scratched the back of her neck as she entered the Great Hall and settled silently beside her friends. She turned her eyes over to the door as the new first years came in. She felt herself smile as students gazed around the Hall in wonder and shock. She saw nervous glances and confident glances in the crowd and some chattered and some were silent. She smiled and waved at one who glanced her way and he grinned, running after someone. She sighed happily. She remembered her Sorting Ceremony.
"Johnson, Melody!" The professor read from the list. Little Melody's head shot up, her eyes filled with nervousness and hope. She stepped forward hesitantly, walkimg slowly up to the chair. She sat down and the Professor placed the hat on her head. The hat fell over her eyes and she giggled a bit, but listened nervously as the Sorting Hat debated on two houses. She bit her lip as the Sorting Hat became to call out the house name. She'd heard bits of information of all the houses, and she was quite excited about the two the Hat was deciding on. "Better be..... -""GRYFFINDOR!" Shouted the Sorting Hat and Melody was knocked out of her daydream. She blinked a few time, watching the Gryffindor house cheer. She shook her head, laughing and turning to look back at the first years, cheering whenever one was placed in her house.
