Katrina Jane Dorsett Full Name: Katrina Jane Dorsett
Gender: Female
Birthday: 19/09/2000
Age: 15
Blood: Pureblood
Birth Place: New York, New York, USA
Nationality: French descent
Family: Katrina comes from a very strict French Pureblood family, who were residing in New York city at the time of her birth. Since then they have bounced around a lot, but they are currently living in London, England. Both her mother and father are purebloods, and push her hard to succeed. Victoire and Henri are not ones to put up with any slacking from a child, and as such she has always been smart and dedicated to whatever she put her mind to. Had an older brother Stefan, but he was killed by a werewolf two years back.
History: Katrina grew up as a kid learning to use weapons of all sorts, bow and arrows, knives, guns, swords, and as soon as she was old enough to get a wand her parents got her one and started teaching her dueling. Personally, Katrina didn't enjoy learning how to inflict pain on others; but, because of her parents drilling she pushed herself hard and became an accomplished fighter. In addition, it gave her a lean and athletic body to go with the knowledge of fighting and dueling skills. When it came to hand-to-hand combat, her forte was judo.
When she was old enough to go to Hogwarts, she signed up for every class she could. The ones she excelled at were Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Dueling, Transfiguration, and Care of Magical Creatures. Astronomy she did well in, but she found it boring. Divination she hated with a passion, and she always received bad omens in it. Muggle studies she took, but honestly was kind of indifferent about it. Her parents insisted she educate herself on the lowly muggle scum, as they put it.
In her third year of Hogwarts, she received a letter from her mother explaining that her brother had been killed in a werewolf attack. She made a promise to herself to hunt down the creature who killed him after graduation, and had taken to looking for clues as to who it was during her breaks at home. So far, she'd found little to nothing, but it wouldn't stop her from trying. Her older brother was the only person in her family she had felt able to trust, and now Stefan was no longer there for her.
Two years later, she was starting to become one of the top students in the school. Some of the professors praised her efforts, but she was not trying hard for them. This was training for her, and one day she would kill that scum who murdered her brother. Whether it was intentional or not, they had failed to take the proper precautions and killed him because of it. It was something she would never forget, and it had hardened her heart to the world around her.
Appearance: Just shy of 5'8, a lean 125 pounds. Often wears her hair and braids or uses some product in it to give it some wave. Dark brown, near black hair, brown eyes, and pale skin with a few freckles. A scar running along her left side, thin but about five inches long. It happened from when she was training with her father, using swords one night. He had refused to heal it with magic, saying the scar would teach her a lesson in being more careful. Will often wear jeans and jackets, but sometimes dresses in skirts or dresses, and when she does likes to wear brighter colors as opposed to her usual darker attire she wears day to day.
Personality: Katrina is not one for people who are lazy or take life as a joke. Hard-working, intelligent, a little cynical, and when she does make a joke it is nearly always sarcastic in tone. One of the few things she has a soft spot are is for animals, though she doesn't let anybody see that side of her and hides it well in Care of Magical Creatures though she gets top marks. One other thing about her personality, she doesn't trust easily but if you become her friend she will stick by you loyally. If you mess up, though, she is not one to offer a second chance lightly.
Katrina read through the letter a second and third time, refusing to believe the words written in the familiar, elegant script of her mother's handwriting. It said the same thing as it had the first time, her brother had been killed. By some werewolf the ministry was still unable to capture. She crumpled the paper and tossed it into the air.
"Incendio!" she said fiercely, and the fire was burnt to ashes before it even had time to fall to the ground. Her brother was the only person she'd ever trusted with her real personality. Now that was gone, and there was no going back for it.
"One day I'll kill whoever did this. But for now, I need to prepare myself." she whispered quietly, making the promise to herself. Promises made to yourself would only break you if you failed in the task, and she would not fail, could not fail. It was her brother she needed to do this for, and to get closure about it. Walking away, she headed back to the castle and into her dorm.
One single tear fell down her cheeks and she wiped it away, silently cursing herself for her weakness. Tears wouldn't bring her brother back or fierce anything, they were pathetic. That was one issue she actually agreed with her parents on. Some of the kids in her first three years of school had gotten homesick or cried, but not her. She was a fighter, and one day it was going to pay off. Sharpening her favorite knife against a whetstone, she smiled to herself in a smirk.
"One day you'll kill the bastard who took Stefan." she told the knife, and kissed the blade, not caring that it cut her lip slightly. Katrina sucked the blood until it stopped and then went to sleep, her hand clutching the hilt of the knife under her pillow the only comfort she had.
