Family: Caylin and her twin sister, Celaena, were the illegitimate daughters of Sirius Black and Carine Greengrass. Caylin’s parents had a standard one night stand, and although Carina didn’t want children Sirius wanted to them to be born and so they were. Carina left her newborn twin daughters in the care of their father and has had no contact with either of them since. Sirius was a loving father, teaching his daughters everything that he could until he died. Devastated by her father’s death, Caylin became determined to help destroy any dark witches or wizards that she can when she becomes old enough.

History: Caylin Astrid Black was the second born daughter of Carina Greengrass and Sirius Black. She grew up with her father and sister, abandoned by her mother, and with a large group of people who she could call family. When Sirius was murdered, Caylin and her sister both threw themselves into training of various sorts, though Caylin remained soft spoken and inconspicuous. On her eleventh birthday, she received her Hogwarts letter and after almost a year long wait she began her schooling at Hogwarts.


Appearance: Caylin has fine, black hair that she cuts short for ease of movement and styles with front bangs. Her skin is rather pale, much more so than her twin sister, and her eyes are a soft green.

Personality: Caylin is soft spoken and unusually kind, but underneath a feminine exterior lays a fierce and fiery foe. She hates to study, but somehow manages above average grades, and spend much of her time either with her sister or going through various exercises to improve her physical and magical strength. The younger Black girl, however, can never quite reach her sister’s expertise when it comes to physical combat but surpasses her by a small margin when it comes to magical talent. Caylin can be deceptive or honest, cruel or friendly, and can switch between two almost opposite personas within a second if provoked. The one thing, though, that means the most to Caylin is Celaena who is the last piece of her father that she has as well as being her other half, and despite being slightly younger Caylin tends to play the overprotective sibling.


Caylin smiled softly into the mirror toward the reflected image of her sister. It was the night before they were to leave for Hogwarts and she had so far managed to keep from becoming emotional. “He should be here for this, Cel,” she said quietly, knowing that her sister would have been thinking about the same thing, “he should be waiting for a letter to tell him where is girls ended up. But instead..” The girl trailed off, her teeth worrying her lower lip as she brushed her hair out of her face and moved to lay on her sister’s bed. “We’ll be alright, won’t we?” she asked, knowing that there was no chance that they couldn’t be alright. They may have lost their father, but they had a whole makeshift family who surrounded them with more love than they knew what to with. “We’ll be alright,” she said again, this time with solid conviction as she smiled once more, “we are finally going to Hogwarts!”
