Family: Vixen lives with her mother, Elizabeth Hart, step-father, Douglas Hart, and younger, half-brother, William Hart. Her biological father, Jeremiel, the Angel of Dreams, exists only in her dreams.
History: The story of Vixen Joelle is one that is filled with mystery. Not much is fully known about her coming to be, unless you believe in dreams, which the Hart family does. Their daughter is proof such things are more than simply visions of a sleeping mind.
Elizabeth was just a normal, Halfblood witch, that grew up in a half magical half not home that was nothing special of note. She attended wizarding school in Ireland, achieving high marks in all of her subjects, and went on to study Herbology following her time in school. An accomplished and well respected botanist, Elizabeth was just an average witch. But in the eyes of one, she was so much more.
The story, as Elizabeth will tell it, all began when she began to be visited by a winged man in her dreams. At first, things were simply dream-like and nothing more, the vision fading upon her waking. However, soon her visions became more vivid and faded slower and slower once she awoke from her dreams. She didn't know, at the time, that she had caught the attention of the Angel of Dreams, Jeremiel.
Jeremiel was very careful when he tended to people's dreams, doing all he could to be sure to not enter them unless the need was dire. All that changed one night when his path took him to the dreams on Elizabeth. From that night on, Jeremiel visited the blonde woman, and shortly thereafter, began to enter her dreams, known as dream walking. Over time, Jeremiel and Elizabeth began to form a bond that was unique in that, if there were not in the unconscious mind of slumber, they appeared to be falling in love. In reality, Elizabeth knew that one couldn't fall in love with a figure that was from dreamland, but Jeremiel had fallen, and hard, for the woman he visited every night.
As their relationship grew and deepened, Jeremiel wanted more. He wanted what was normally unheard of for one such as he was. Against his better judgment, one night, the Angel of Dreams created a dream for his love, one that transcended time and space. In this waking dream, the pair could truly be together as if in real time, and it was in this waking dream that Jeremiel took Elizabeth for his own, resulting in the consummation of Vixen. Upon her waking, Elizabeth believed it to be a very vivid dream, one that she treasured as she had grown to love the winged man of her dreams.
Weeks passed and soon, Elizabeth figured out that there was more to that dream that she remembered so clearly, for she had discovered she was pregnant. Not wanting the woman of his heart to panic and possibly destroy this precious gift growing within her, Jeremiel went to meet her outside of slumber. Explaining his love for her and the growing baby he was responsible for, Elizabeth cried tears of joy as she finally knew that what she had seen and felt and experienced for so many nights was reality. She vowed to keep the baby and tell it all about how it came into being. When the time came for the baby to be born, a wintry night, the first of the new year, Jeremiel watched from the outer realm as a daughter was born to him and Elizabeth...
Vixen grew up in as normal home as could be expected when a family is combined. Three years following her birth, a new man, a halfblood wizard like her mother, entered Elizabeth's life and swept her off her feet, eventually making her his wife. In a year or so, Douglas and Elizabeth welcomed their son, William, into the family. Douglas loved both children as if they were both his own instead of just one, which pleased both Elizabeth and Jeremiel.
As she grew, Vixen began to have dreams of a winged man coming to visit her. When she told her mother of these dreams, Elizabeth happily told her that while they were dreams, they were also real. The winged man was her father, an angel of dreams, thus making her half-angel. It wasn't until Vixen began to manifest magic, which was no surprise to her parents, that she also showed the angelic influence her father's genes gave her, showing her to be gifted in wizarding magic and some angelic arts.
She, like all wizards, received her letter of acceptance to attend school at Hogwarts, which both pleased and surprised her parents, as they both attended the school in Ireland. Heading off, Vixen was more than excited to begin a new journey...
Appearance: Vixen stands a bit on the tall side for her age, thanks to the influence of her father. A tall and lean, yet toned, 5'7", she has long brown hair and warm brown eyes that also reflect her father's angelic face. She often wears her hair in a ponytail, but will, on occasion, wear it down or in a fancier style than the common everyday way she wears it. A casual girl, Vixen does like things that are comfortable: jeans, tees, button-down shirts in the right style, and even a vest or sweater should the item strike her. When not in uniform, that is generally her clothing choice with a favorite pair of Keds. Not often playing up the touch of angelic beauty that comes with being half-angel, it is a treat should she dress up for someone.
When she allows it, Vixen will show her angelic features. However, being only half, her genetic make-up had a slight error in only giving her one wing. Be that as it may, she took it in stride, finding it to make her unique and, as her father says, beautiful. When not shown as a glimmer of a shadow, Vixen's wing sports coloring and the pattern of the common Barn Owl, light cream and white, on her feathers.
Personality: Vixen is a sweetheart without being too sweet. She is well aware that she is very different from her peers, but doesn't let that influence how she acts or behaves. Keeping her angelic side a secret, she is naturally guarded but very open once a deep trust is established. Smart, Vixen excels in Charms, Herbology, and Ancient Runes, but finds a balance with a bit of some struggles with Potions and Divination. An overall bright and happy girl, Vixen is friendly, very open-minded, and fiercely loyal to those she cares about.
Don't let her sweetness fool you. Vixen has trained in hand-to-hand combat and excels with small blades. A skill and hobby she picked up when asked if she could do any extra carricular study with her early studies. Oddly enough, she selected this, much to her father's surprise, but not disappointment. Thus, these skills makes her not one to cross or take lightly if pushed or backed into a corner.
Being half-angel, and daughter to the Angel of Dreams, Vixen inherited some of her father's skills, primarily Dream Walking and Sleep Manipulation. Both of these skills she rarely uses and does her best to keep them a secret. Along with these two skills, she also shows an Empath Sensitivity to others, leading her to read people easier than most. Even though she is half angel, some things that would effect a full angel also effect her, such as artifacts or weapons blessed a certain or marked or crafted a certain way. Vixen also inherited a form of immortality from her father. While she is aging, her aging is slowing until it will finally stop at the age of 21. She will then remain in that likeness for the rest off her life, however long that may be.
Sleeping soundly and peacefully, Vixen smiled softly. Watching close by was her father, not making a sound, but merely watching his daughter. Not wishing to disturb her, he silently vanished and entered her dreams, as he had done so many time before. When Vixen turned, in her dream, to see the winged man, she paused. He was there. Just as he so often was. Smiling, she ran to him and wrapped her arms around his waist. Chuckling happily, Jeremiel lifted his daughter into a fatherly embrace.
"You came..." she cooed. "I'm never far away," he replied. Just then, a shimmering sound, like the wind through the trees sounded and a single wing in proportion to Vixen's young body appeared. "Well, now..." he said, a proud look washing off his strikingly handsome face. Glancing over her shoulder, Vixen's brown eyes lit with excitement. "I'm like you, Daddy! I'm like..." she began but he voice faded as she saw only one wing instead of two like her father. Seeing his daughter's face fall, Jeremiel put a hand under her chin and brought her face to look at him. "You are still like me. Just a little different. Unique and beautiful, my Vixen, my little Dream Walker..." he told her and kissed her forehead. Closing her eyes and leaning into the kiss, Vixen wrapped her small arms around her father's neck and peacefully rested her head on his shoulder. "Dream Walker..." she echoed as she drifted off into a dreamless sleep, safe in her father's arms.
